Real Name : Ian VilarelleYear of Birth : 1973Inspired by the big sounds of the rave era which started in the late eighties, Ian found his passion for Beats and Breaks. He started Dj ing at the age of 16 and has been at it ever since. His skills behind the turntables soon became noticed and it wasn’t long before he had secured his first radio slot on the hugely popular Don FM, a pirate radio station based in South London bringing the sounds of the underground to the massives. Known then as DJ Wooze his show which he hosted every Sunday for 6 years was very popular and attracted listeners from all corners of London and the surrounding counties! Ian’s taste in music and energetic style behind the decks has always made him a firm favorite on the dancefloor and he has played at many of the countries best venues and events (Ministry of Sound, The Rocket, The Marquee, Turnmills to name a few) over the years. It was in 1997 when the idea of producing his own music began to take shape. At first he spent many hours and £££’s using the facilities of other studios which proved costly and had many limitations on time so he finally decided on investing in his own equipment and has been dedicated in developing his skills and knowledge in music production ever since. From 2004-2007 Ian has been very busy working closely with Born Idle Records and was in fact co-manager for the final 18months until he decided to take a step back and focus entirely on the production and dj'ing side of things.
Ian works primarily with fellow producer Adrian Barr (Journeyman vs Barrcode). He also works with writer and producer Azmi Erdemir (Det Selectaz) and has also previously collaborated with J-Bass releasing under the name of Code Red (aka J-Bass vs Journeyman). With ten singles released to date his music is receiving DJ support from the likes of Tayo, The Freestylers (who also snapped up "Time 2 Unite" and featured it as an exclusive track on the Fabric Live 19 compilation) Plump DJ’s, Orbital, Chris Carter, Drummattic Twins, The Breakfastaz and Napt which gives a good insight into the diversity of the sound. His music has been received well by the critics earning excellent ratings and reviews in DJ magazine and specialist breakbeat publication Mofo Magazine. Recently "Orgazmatron" received a coveted 5 star thumbs up in International DJ Magazine. For more details visit the reviews section of this site.

He has also performed internationally at events in Romania, Poland and Germany with future visits to the Shambhala Festival in Canada and also Croatia later this summer and autumn. This year also saw an award nomination for J-Bass & Journeyman. They were nominated for the Breakspoll Best Radio Show award alongside BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM which was certainly a big surprise!
It has been a good year with some exciting new releases and there have also been some amazing parties and some great radio exposure with support coming from Kiss FM - UK, Fresh FM, Australia and the highlight been a guest mix on BBC Radio 1 where J-Bass & Journeyman performed on the Annie Nightingale Show.
